Angela over at Anonymous Legacy tried to take her weekly challenge up a notch this week. She gave us three very disparate black-and-white photos to work into one 100-word bit of flash fiction. I think I managed, and I look forward to reading everyone else's stories so I can see how they did. I encourage you to visit Angela's site and follow the links to other great mini-stories.
Death of Art
The curator wandered through the bare galleries. The only art remaining were the murals which could not be stripped from the building’s bones. He stopped frequently to inspect his favorite scenes, savoring the vibrant hues and bold brushstrokes. Construction crews were razing the walls around him, but today only the ravens witnessed his trespassing. Soon enough his ancient world would be replaced by a modern one, one devoted to adulation of the mundane. He’d heard rumors that his marble statues were to be supplanted by sculptures of scissors and pencils. A tear trickled down his cheek.
