I thought of trying to find something erudite to write about this holiday season, some deep thoughts on the meaning of Christmas, but I just don't have it in me. Instead, I'm squeezing in this post while enjoying a day spent with Mom, Carol (my mother-in-law), and Bodie (my brother's son). It's been a busy day, but I think we're all enjoying it.
Carol and I went out for a short walk earlier this afternoon. I decided it was the perfect opportunity to capture some photos of the snow with my new camera. I'm anxious to see if it really takes better pictures in my incompetent hands than my little point-and-shoot.
Rowan and our neighbor Samantha on Rowan's early Christmas present. Thane and Bodie were pulling them with the 4-wheeler.
Carol standing by the tunnel leading to our shed. We've had about 180 inches of snow so far this winter, with about 10 inches of rain mixed in.
My willing model standing by the tunnel to the fuel tank.
Our house from the end of the driveway.
Now we're all waiting for Christmas day. The kids are lobbying for opening at least one present this evening, but I'm holding the privilege over their heads to ensure good, or at least reasonable, behavior. I'm sure I'll concede, however. After all, there are presents for me under this tree, too!
I hope you all have a peaceful day enjoyed with family and friends.
Merry Christmas!
