This weekend, I'm giving myself a gift of time. Since Tuesday is a State holiday (Alaska Day), I decided to take Monday off, too, so I'd have a four day weekend. Although I won't be able to totally avoid chores, my plan is to spend as much time as possible doing things I want to be doing: writing, reading, working in my studio....
I've been wanting for quite some time to take several of my pendants and turn them into complete pieces of jewelry by creating complementary beaded necklaces for them. My hope is that they'll be more likely to sell that way. As a bonus, choosing and stringing the beads should be one of those activities that will be relaxing and meditative. I anticipate many more ideas will come to me if I finally get to spend some time working with my materials.
These are just a few of the pieces I might work with.
I also want to make some more mosaic Christmas ornaments, for sale and as class examples. It doesn't hurt that they're a fun way to use up scrap glass!
Fused glass beads, setting up my lampworking torch, writing several essays, more blog posts...a myriad of ideas and goals are bouncing around in my head fighting for their chance to see light. I hope to have some wonderful things to share with you over the next few days!
