For the last couple of days I've been wanting to write something here, but I've been totally annoyed by my inability to post photos. I just have to assume that you'd rather see beautiful pictures of Hawaii than just read my dull ramblings. And really, is it enough for me to just tell you about the fun we've been having snorkeling, kayaking and swimming?
That said, you're stuck with just my words. We went on a snorkeling cruise today with Thane's mom, aunt and cousin to the Captain Cook Monument in Kealakekua Bay. The water clarity was fantastic and the number of fish was unbelievable. Of course, being a cruise, there was a cute guy videotaping everything. Not surprisingly, he chose Rowan to be his star given that she was the youngest and cutest on board. Didn't hurt that she's a total ham. Thane has his moment of fame, too, while I just stand in the background and laugh. Needless to say, Grandma bought the video, so we'll get to see it someday.
One of the main reasons I've been annoyed about my lack of photo posting capabilities is thatni can't share the Violette-inspired journal entries of been creating. They're not all worthy of publication, but I've got a couple of which I'm pretty proud. I'll post photos of a couple as soon as I get home.
Inwant to wait to post them all, however, until the project is complete. I decided to mount them in such a way as to create an accordion book. I purchased some pretty brown and blue cotton Hawaiian-print cotton at Kimura's Fabrics in Captain Cook yesterday to use as the base for the book pages. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to mount the watercolor paper on the fabric pages, yet, but I have some ideas. I'll keep you posted as I work on it.
Enough of my ramblings for now. I need to get some sleep so I have energy for the beach tomorrow!
