It shouldn't be so hard just to go on vacation. Every year I spend hours upon hours on the internet trying to find the perfect place to stay and the flights that won't take too long, all at the right time. It wouldn't be so difficult if Thane weren't so picky. We frequently go to the Big Island of Hawaii, but have never stayed in the same place twice. Thane always wants somewhere that is totally independent and private (no condos or rentals in peoples' homes), preferably somewhat south of Kona, but not too far south. Once I locate the best place I can, I have to find flights that don't have too many layovers or take too long - he hates being cooped up on planes. So here I am again, trying to plan a trip in January. Of course, I waited to long, so many of the rentals are full. Oh well, something will work out. The sun will make it worth the effort. I think, however, that I'm going to start planning this winter for a trip next winter to Belize. Rowan and I both really want to go, so Thane will just have to suck it up and come along.
On a happier front, the glass the kids in Rowan's class made Friday came out of the kiln just fine. I think they'll be pleased.
