I have had two very large hibiscus plants for several years. They've served their purpose well over time by blooming fairly often and otherwise being in the way. One of them has become very confused this year, however. It's been blooming profusely for the past four to six weeks (didn't bloom at all this summer). It's flowers are normally a lovely peach color, as can be seen in this bud.
Yesterday, however, one opened up that looks as if it should be on an entirely different plant.
I don't know what caused such an abnormality, but I sure do love it!
By the way, hibiscus root very well from cuttings and this one needs a severe pruning as soon as it quits blooming. If anyone in Valdez would like one, comment on this post with your name and I'll root one for you and let you know when it's ready to be planted. Please comment within the blog, however, rather than on Facebook - it'll be easier for me to keep track. Thanks!
